Chocolate-Strawberry Overnight Oats

hollyfory

Dark chocolate and strawberries… a match made in heaven! I can think of a few things that dark chocolate pairs well with actually, but we’ll stick with strawberries for today in the spirit of Valentines’ Day.

What's your take on Valentines’ Day? I feel like you either love it or hate it. I love any excuse to be festive. An excuse to have a special meal, wear fun holiday socks or buy some cute decorations- This mama’s here for it!

You can celebrate the holiday this year with a fun, festive breakfast. Protein packed and full of chocolate flavor- this bowl of goodness will leave you satisfied and full for the entire morning. Go ahead and prep a few bowls while you’re at it so you can have a grab and go breakfast waiting on you in the busy mornings this week.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • ½ cup quick oats

  • 1 tsp. cocoa powder

  • ¾ cups chocolate protein powder of your choice (I like Quest or FNX chocolate malt)

  • ½ cup (chopped) frozen strawberries

  • 1 tbsp. (dark) chocolate chips

  • ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk

  • fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

*Adjust amounts as needed to fit your personal macro numbers

Easiest steps ever….

Literally combine all your ingredients and mix well. If you feel it is too thick, you can always add some water. It shouldn’t be soupy, but should be smooth and easy to stir (not pasty). As you refrigerate it overnight, it will thicken up a bit to a perfect consistency.

If eating at home, you can add some fresh chopped strawberries to the top if you like. Every now and then, you’ll get the crunch from a chocolate chip and then a bite of a strawberry and it’s delightful! *I like to pair it with a hard-boiled egg or two or maybe some turkey or chicken sausage on the side for a complete meal.

Enjoy this for breakfast or even “dessert” after a meal. Chocolatey goodness without the guilt! Happy Valentine’s Day!
